Azesco tablets for prenatal and postnatal nutritional support with advanced folate

Overview

Azesco is a prescription vitamin supplement formulated to support nutritional needs during prenatal and postnatal periods as well as other physiologically stressful conditions. It provides high levels of folate along with vitamins, minerals, and cofactors necessary for maintaining good health when advanced folate supplementation is needed.

What is it used for?

Azesco tablets are used as a clinical dietary vitamin supplement for adults requiring enhanced folate supplementation and nutritional support during prenatal and postnatal periods or other physiologically stressful conditions requiring maintenance of adequate nutritional status.

Active ingredients

Ascorbic acid, Cholecalciferol, Thiamin, Pyridoxal-5-phosphate, Folic Acid, Methylcobalamin, Calcium carbonate, Ferrous gluconate, Iodine

How it works

Azesco combines folic acid with essential vitamins and minerals, including vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol), vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin), and others, to replenish and support nutritional levels. Folate plays a key role in DNA synthesis and cell growth, which is critical during pregnancy and recovery periods. The added vitamins and minerals support overall metabolic and physiological functions.

Dosage and administration

The usual adult dose is 1 tablet taken orally once or twice daily, or as prescribed by a licensed medical practitioner.

Contraindications

Azesco tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Warnings and precautions

Important: Accidental overdose of iron-containing products like Azesco is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under 6 years old. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, seek immediate medical attention.

Side effects

Allergic sensitization has been reported with folic acid, both by oral and parenteral routes. Patients should monitor for any signs of allergy and report side effects to their healthcare provider.

Drug interactions

Azesco tablets should not be taken concurrently with mineral oil unless directed by a physician, as this may interfere with absorption.

Overdose information

There is a risk of fatal poisoning from iron overdose, particularly in children under six. In event of overdose, immediate medical attention is essential.

Storage

Store Azesco tablets at controlled room temperature between 20°-25°C (68°-77°F), allowing excursions between 15°-30°C (59°-86°F). Protect from heat, light, and moisture. Do not use if the tamper-evident seal is broken or missing.
