Overview
PNV - Omega is a prescription prenatal and postnatal dietary supplement in softgel form. It contains a combination of multivitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids, designed to manage nutritional deficiencies and support nutritional supplementation, particularly around pregnancy.
What is it used for?
PNV - Omega is used for nutritional supplementation before, during, and after pregnancy. It is intended for patients who have nutritional deficiencies or require additional nutritional support during these periods.
Active ingredients
Ascorbic acid, cholecalciferol, alpha-tocopherol, pyridoxine hydrochloride, folic acid, cyanocobalamin, calcium carbonate, ferrous fumarate, potassium iodide, magnesium oxide, doconexent, icosapent
How it works
This product provides essential vitamins and minerals, including Vitamin C (ascorbic acid), Vitamin D (cholecalciferol), Vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol), B vitamins (pyridoxine, folic acid, cyanocobalamin), minerals like calcium, iron, potassium, and magnesium, along with omega-3 fatty acids (dokonexent and icosapent). Together, these components help meet increased nutritional demands and support healthy maternal and fetal development.

Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the product's ingredients.
Warnings and precautions
- Do not exceed 3 grams per day of omega-3 fatty acids due to increased risk of bleeding, including prolonged bleeding time and elevated International Normalized Ratio (INR).
- Avoid omega-3 fatty acids if taking anticoagulants or if there is an inherited or acquired bleeding risk.
- Keep out of reach of children; accidental iron overdose is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under 6. Seek immediate medical care if overdose is suspected.
Side effects
- Allergic sensitization has been reported with folic acid administration.
- FD&C Yellow No. 5 (tartrazine) in the product may cause allergic-type reactions, including bronchial asthma, in susceptible individuals, especially those with aspirin sensitivity.
Drug interactions
- PNV - Omega should not be used with levodopa as pyridoxine antagonizes its action.
- Pyridoxine may increase bleeding risk when taken with anticoagulants such as aspirin, heparin, and clopidogrel.
Overdose information
Iron overdose can be fatal in children under 6 years old. In case of accidental ingestion of a toxic amount, seek emergency medical attention immediately.
